Summertime

I´ve spent a lovely weekend in my Dad´s home about 80 km from Munich. I love being there, especially in summer when I can sit outside and relax. On Saturday we had barbecue and enjoyed the warm summer evening until midnight.

It seems as if time goes by more slowly when I´m there. Although it is only for the weekend, a short break, afterwards I feel refreshed as if I had spent a whole week on vacation. Maybe, because I don´t have internet access and I watch almost no tv when I´m there.

I wonder, do we really need all the electronic gadgets of modern life? Do we have to be available 24/7 by email and mobile phones when this only causes more stress?

I´m happy to take a break from that and lead a "second life" even if it´s only for a weekend every fortnight.

So, turn off the phone, shut down the computer and chill out with a cool drink.

Enjoy the summer!
