I have to admit, I have put on weight.
No, not over night, but over the last year or so. Since buying a new wardrobe doesn´t fit in the budget, I have to fit in my old clothes again.
I´ve always been a plus size. I tried every new diet, exercised, lost weight, gained weight and so on. A few years ago I went on a strict diet and exercise regimen and lost a lot of weight, but did I gain confidence? No!
I was too worried to put on the weight again, that I wouldn´t give myself permission to indulge in a piece of cake or chocolate and spend the evening on the sofa, not on the treadmill.
Finally, I came to my senses and asked myself "What am I doing?"
It was time to let go of old baggage! Especially false expectations about looks, life and my waistline. I will never be a size zero and I don´t have to. Being my true self feels good and is liberating.
Funnily enough, it took me almost 45 years to accept my body and be happy in my own skin.
